Hi, I’m Richard Miller.

I was born with a genetic atrophy of the optic nerve that left me legally blind. My damaged optic nerves carried less visual information to my brain. As a result, my vision was quite blurry and I lost color sensitivity. I also had large blind spots in both eyes. To make matters worse, I was a good student in school and so became nearsighted as well.

Ironically, I was born into a family of dedicated photographers. I inherited a creative eye as well as my genetic eye disease. From the very start, I learned to push back against my blindness. Loving visual arts, I even had a ten-year career in graphic design. Then, I attended Rochester Institute of Technology for Advertising Photography. Later on I earned a Master of Fine Arts, an MFA. My love of vision, creativity and that strong rebellious streak carry into my self-healing and spiritual practice today.

I met Meir Schneider, a man who was also born blind, over thirty years ago and quickly became his eye exercise student. I got rid of my strong glasses and improved my optic nerve atrophy. I became a Self-Healing Practitioner in the Meir Schneider Method so I could help others push back against their visual challenges.

From an early age, alongside my self-healing journey, I studied and then taught a nonreligious form of meditation called Time, Space and Knowledge. Many of the exercises I present here are meant to heal both the eyes ad the mind.

I am both a Certified Massage Therapist CMT and a Certified Personal Trainer CPT. I believe that vision improvement must be holistic; embracing body, mind and eyes. Seeing and Well-Being are closely linked. My Master’s research and thesis integrate eye exercises with meditation, creativity and the science of quantum physics. I bring this interdisciplinary spirit into all my teaching.

I have created a unique scientific basis for an integrated approach to creativity, spirituality and self-healing that I call Quantum Seeing. It is my hope that my students can create a quantum leap in their seeing and their well-being.
